A Letter from a Father and CEO of The Mountain Tribe
Journeying Together in Your Child’s Development
Dear Parents,
As a father of a young child myself, I deeply understand the worries and concerns we, as parents, often face when considering the right summer camp for our children. That’s why, as the founder and CEO of The Mountain Tribe, I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where your children can thrive holistically.
In the face of the pressures and challenges of modern life, we not only want our children to gain academic knowledge but also to develop comprehensively – both mentally and physically. This is why, at The Mountain Tribe, we don’t just provide engaging outdoor activities; we are genuine companions in your children’s developmental journey.
With the perspective of a father, I pledge to journey alongside you in creating unforgettable memories and enriching educational experiences for your children. We are not just an organization; we are an open family, ready to share in the joys, worries, and dreams of parents.
Let us, The Mountain Tribe, be your trusted destination in your children’s developmental journey. We are committed to providing a safe, stimulating, and meaningful environment for your children’s holistic growth.
Looking forward to journeying together with you and your children in the upcoming summer days.
Warm regards,
ĐẶNG PHAN NHỰT MINH
Founder & CEO, The Mountain Tribe
EDUCATIONAL APPROACH
The Experiential Learning Cycle
David Kolb described the ideal process of learning in a four-step Experiential Learning Cycle:
Experiencing – Reflecting – Thinking – Acting.
- Experiencing (Concrete Experience): Learning begins when a learner uses senses and perceptions to engage in what is happening now.
- Reflecting (Reflective Observation): After the experience, a learner reflects on what happened and connects feelings with ideas about the experience.
- Thinking (Abstract Conceptualization): The learner engages in thinking to reach conclusions and form theories, concepts, or general principles that can be tested
- Acting (Active Experimentation): The learner tests the theory and applies what was learned to get feedback and create the next experience.
Challenge by Choice
“Challenge By Choice” is at the core of our adventure philosophy at The Mountain Tribe. While adventure inherently involves risk and challenge, we recognize that what’s easy for one may be difficult for another. Participants are empowered to select their level of challenge, fostering growth and learning in their stretch zone.
Social & Emotional Learning
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is a fundamental aspect of personal and collective growth. It equips individuals with the skills to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. Through SEL, both young people and adults cultivate empathy, resilience, and a sense of community, fostering a positive impact on society.
